Responsible use

Practical tips to lower your risk: start low, go slow, and never drive high.

Start low and go slow

Choose lower-THC products, take a small amount, and wait to feel the effects before having more.

Never drive impaired

Cannabis slows reaction time. Do not drive or operate machinery after using it. Plan a ride home.

Avoid mixing

Combining cannabis with alcohol or other substances increases impairment and the chance of feeling unwell.

Store it safely

Keep cannabis in its child-resistant package, locked away from children and pets. Edibles can look like regular food and candy.

If a child or pet eats cannabis, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 or your vet right away.

Who should avoid cannabis

People under 21, people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and people with a personal or family history of psychosis should avoid cannabis. Talk to a doctor if you have health concerns.
