Methods of use

How smoking, vaping, edibles, drinks, oils and topicals differ in onset and duration.

Smoking

Effects can start within minutes and usually last a few hours. Smoke of any kind can harm your lungs.

Vaping

Like smoking, effects are felt quickly. Only use regulated vape products from licensed retailers, and never add other liquids to a cartridge.

Edibles and beverages

Effects can take 30 minutes to 2 hours to start and can last 6 hours or more. Wait before having more, as taking a second serving too soon is a common mistake.

Start with a low amount, such as 2.5 mg of THC or less.

Oils and capsules

Swallowed oils and capsules act like edibles: slower to start and longer lasting. Measured doses make them easier to control.

Topicals

Creams and balms are applied to the skin. They are generally not intended to produce a high.
