Age
You must be 21 or older to buy, possess or use recreational cannabis in California.
Possession
Adults may carry up to 28.5 grams of dried cannabis and up to 8 grams of concentrated cannabis.
Where you can consume
Consuming in public places, in vehicles, and in many rented or shared spaces is not allowed. Check local rules before using.
Travel
Taking cannabis across state lines or international borders is illegal, even to another state where it is legal.
