From flower to hash: how concentrates are made
A plain-language look at resin, rosin and hash, and what makes each one different.
Concentrates collect the parts of the plant that hold most of its cannabinoids and aroma, called trichomes.
Hash is one of the oldest forms, made by separating and pressing trichomes. Rosin uses heat and pressure only, with no solvents. Resin is usually extracted from fresh or cured plants with a solvent that is later removed.
Concentrates are much stronger than dried flower. If you are new to them, start with a very small amount.
